Enterprise/Entrepreneurship
Bangor University is committed to supporting innovation and enterprise in a number of ways. For instance, students or graduates can benefit from unique enterprise support through the B-Enterprising Programme run by the Centre for Careers & Opportunities which helps students develop enterprise skills through a series of workshops and summer school. Students and graduates interested in self employment can also seek advice and guidance through one to one mentoring support and access grant opportunities. A new student-led Enterprise Club and online enterprise forum has also been established to encourage students and graduates to network with internal and external partners and businesses. - Benefit from a unique enterprise support programme ( GoWales B-Enterprising ) which helps students prepare for self-employment or freelance work
- Develop their career prospects by taking part in high profile projects with local companies via Bangor 's Knowledge Transfer Partnerships .
- Benefit from enterprise-based programmes (such as the Wales Spin Out Programme ) which offers support to those wishing to start their own business in Wales .
- Seek grant opportunities and guidance under other programmes run by University Innovation Bangor, the specialist unit which provides the main focus for the University's research support, enterprise and knowledge transfer activities.
Research
- The Research and Enterprise Partnership is an exciting and important development. It is a strategic collaboration between Bangor University and the University of Wales Aberystwyth . The partnership builds on the international research reputations and capabilities of both institutions and aims to enhance their competitiveness and to create a sustainable world-class research base in North and Mid-Wales.
- ESRC Centre for Research on Bilingualism in Theory and Practice - The main theoretical focus of the ESRC Centre for Research on Bilingualism, based at Bangor, is the nature of the relationship between the two languages of bilingual speakers in bilingual communities.
- Wales Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (WICN) - The Welsh Assembly Government has awarded Bangor University, Cardiff University and the University of Wales, Swansea £5.17 million to establish the new multi-centre Wales Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (WICN).

- The NHS in Wales . The University is a major provider of training and education for the NHS (including a new fast-track nursing degree for Health Care Assistants at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd) and is also one of the main partners in the new North Wales Clinical School

- A range of other professional bodies and associations. For example, the new Law degree at Bangor has been set up in consultation with the legal profession in the region.
