David Roberts has been a member of the administrative staff of the University for over 25 years. He was Academic Registrar for 11 years before becoming Secretary & Registrar in 1999.

As Registrar, he has responsibility for ‘corporate affairs’, including legal and constitutional matters, governance & management processes, organisational development and the University’s general reputation. He therefore has overall responsibility for major service departments - Academic Registry, Human Resources and Corporate Communications and Marketing. He also chairs six Task Groups (Human Resources, Legal Compliance, Student Services/Students' Union, Careers & Employability, Safety, Risk Management) and is Secretary to seven bodies including the Council, the Court and the Audit and Risk Committee.

He is a member of the Board of Careers Wales (North West) since 2002, and was a member of the governing body of Coleg Llandrillo, 1991-99 and chair of the ‘Community University of North Wales’ Executive 1998-2002.

Interests include sport (particularly soccer), music, current affairs.
