The College of Education and Lifelong Learning is offering the following funding opportunities:
International EdD Scholarships
We are very pleased to announce that, to further strengthen our MA and EdD programmes in the College of Education and Lifelong Learning, we are offering two International EdD Scholarships to outstanding students who have successfully completed our MA programme at Bangor. These scholarships would entail a 50% reduction in fees for the successful applicants for two and half years during which they have to complete two further taught modules - the compulsory level 8 Thesis Proposal module and another level 7 module of their choice - in addition to the EdD theses.
Eligibility of Applicants

you are a (former) Bangor international student who has completed the MA programme in the College of Education and Lifelong Learning;

you have demonstrated good research capabilities during your study at Bangor;

you can show that you have access to financial support for the rest of the cost to study at Bangor;

you have a clear idea of who would be your principal supervisor with the expertise in your interested area of research;

Please complete an on-line University Postgraduate Application Form available here. (You will be directed to a page called 'Admissions Login' and asked to create an account)
In addition to the application form and its requirements, applicants applying for the EdD International Scholarship are required to provide a brief research proposal within 800 words indicating clearly the following:

A provisional title

Outline of the research study including information on:
a) Why this topic is worth researching
b) Relevant literature on similar research
c) Methodology
d) Potential supervisor(s)

A provisional bibliography (not counted in length)

The online application form and accompanying documents to apply for a International EdD Scholarship must be submitted by Thursday 29th March 2012.

If you satisfy the eligibility criteria then you mus make it clear that you are applying for a Bangor University EdD Inernational Scholarship:
- In answer to Question 3 ('Are you applying for a Bangor University advertised Research Project or Studentship?') of Section 6 ('Proposed Course of Study') of the on-line application form, please write 'EdD INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP', failure to do so may result in your application not being considered.
