Alumnus/Alumna of the Year

Bangor University is pleased to introduce an Alumnus / Alumna of the Year award. Every year, the University will recognise a former student who has demonstrated achievements of particular merit or distinction in either the public or private sectors in Wales, other parts of the UK or internationally. 

The Alumnus of the Year Award highlights the value that the University attaches to its alumni and their achievements, and will draw the attention of the wider public to the contributions to society of the University’s former students.

The Selection Panel will consider nominations who can demonstrate:

  1. Professional success of particular merit
  2. Voluntary work or philanthropy of significant merit
  3. Commendable heroism
  4. Work which is unique or especially distinctive
  5. Achievements of national or international significance
  6. Work which makes a significant contribution to the lives of others

The award will be presented during an annual Alumni Reunion or at another appropriate alumni event.

Nominations should be submitted with a supporting statement by 31st March each year to: Bethan Perkins, Alumni Development Officer, Development & Alumni Relations Office, Bangor University, Bangor, Gwynedd LL57 2DG.

The University reserves the right not to make an award in any particular year.
