The main focus of this website is to provide easy access to the services provided by the Registrar's Office. It is divided into sections which reflect the main areas of responsibility, and these can be navigated by using the menu buttons at the side of each page.

Parts of the site are still under construction and our aim is to continually develop the site to serve the needs of all our users.

The Registrar’s Office is situated on the ground floor, and the mezzanine floor of the Main University Building. Normal office hours are 8.45 am to 12.45 pm and 1.45 pm to 5.00 pm. General enquiries should be directed to Mrs Dawn-Marie Owen.

Mission Statement

To provide leadership, co-ordination and support for the University in its activities as a corporate body. These activities include:

  • Legal & constitutional matters (eg Charter, Statutes, regulations, degree-awarding powers, Privy Council issues, federal University of Wales)

  • Governance & Management (eg processes of decision-making, the role of the Council, Court, Senate, Executive, Task Groups, Risk Management, academic and student administration)

  • Organisational Development (eg Human Resources Strategy, culture, values, staff development and well-being,  health & safety, industrial relations)

  • Reputation, performance & image (eg Communications, marketing, PR)

 Within the ‘corporate affairs’ label, the following departments report to the Registrar:

  • The Human Resources Department, headed by the Director of HR, and including staff development.

  • The Academic Registry, headed by the Academic Registrar, and covering admissions and student records, examinations and assessment, support for Teaching & Learning, Student Services, and the Careers & Opportunities Centre.

  • The Corporate Communications & Marketing Department, headed by the Director of Communications & Marketing, and including student recruitment & schools liaison, marketing, the International Office, public and media relations, alumni relations and fund raising.
