Computer science is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation and their implementation and application in computer systems. Computer science has many sub-fields; some emphasise the computation of specific results (such as computer graphics), while others (such as knowledge discovery) relate to the process of finding novel, interesting, and useful patterns in data. The School of Computer Science at Bangor specialises in these two exciting sub-fields, together with offering a broad expertise in the fundamentals of computing. There is a great demand from business, industry and education for graduates who are numerate, can handle computers with confidence and are able to communicate. The School of Computer Science will provide you with the education and training you need to meet this demand from the most theoretical course to those that deal with applications at the cutting-edge of modern technology.

Our close links with a wide range of employers ensure that our courses are up-to-date, covering topics of relevance today as well as the new technologies of the future. Through these same links, and our reputation, employers can have confidence in the high quality of our graduates.
