Bangor by road: In most cases, the fastest route to Bangor is the A55 expressway along the North Wales coast.

• If you are travelling from the South/West of England from the M6, follow the M54 signs towards Shrewsbury, Wrexham and Chester to the A55 to Bangor.
• If you are travelling from the North, you need to take the M56 and then the A55 to Bangor.
• From West Wales, you should follow the A487 to Aberystwyth, and then via Dolgellau, Porthmadog and Caernarfon to Bangor.
• From South Wales the best route is via Hereford, Leominster and Shrewsbury, then follow Wrexham and Chester signs to the A55 to Bangor.
