Entry Requirements

We require one of the following:

  • 240-300 points, including B in English literature or language
  • BTEC National Diploma with overall Merit
  • Irish Leaving Certificate, with a minimum of 380 points

We will consider mature students with non-standard qualifications or Access passes. For joint degrees you should also look at the entry requirements for your other chosen subject.

We accept about 85 single honours and about 15 joint honours students annually. On average, about 7% of our students are mature; we greatly value their independence of mind and wealth of experience. Around 5% join us under ERASMUS schemes for a semester or a year from other EU countries; the breadth of learning they bring is one of the most valuable aspects of the exchange to us.
