Costs
The Academic Registry web pages give details of the fees for postgraduate courses . The cost for a part-time course is usually half that of a full-time course taken in that year.
Accommodation costs
It is possible to find rooms in shared houses in Bangor for £50/week, though the average is probably higher.
To this you should add a sum for bills (gas, electricity, phone), living costs (food and other essentials, and entertainment).
For more information on accommodation see our Accommodation for Postgraduates page
A helping hand in funding your studies
The College of Arts and Humanities has a number of postgraduate awards to offer postgraduates to help them fund their studies. Please visit the Scholarships and Studentships page on the central Bangor University website for more details.
In 2010-11 a number of 125th Anniversary scholarships and bursaries are available, by competition, in areas of specialism in the School of English.

Other ways of funding your studies
UK students wishing to apply for AHRC funding should be aware that the competition is highly competitive. If you have achieved, or are likely to achieve, the necessary academic results, then the quality of your application will be crucial. You should contact your prospective supervisor as soon as possible: see the how to apply page.
Students looking for charitable assistance are particularly recommended to consult the Directory of Grant Making Trusts ; there is a copy in the reference section of the library at Bangor. Consider in particular whether you, or your parents, are associated with any particular company, trade, place, region, or religion. Consider also whether your proposed study is also associated with any of these things.
Bangor postgraduates have successfully applied to the British Federation of Women Graduates, which offers limited assistance if you meet the criteria.
The Prospects website has good advice: follow the link to "funding my further study".
