Graduation 2013
In order to ensure you are able to attend the ceremony you need to complete the following processes:
1] confirm your attendance
2] purchase guest tickets
3] order your academic gown
All students eligible to attend Graduation need to inform us whether they will be attending the ceremony by 7th June 2013, [Proceed to Registration page].
If you fail to register your attendance by 7th June, we cannot guarantee your attendance at the ceremony.
On the day:
Students only should arrive in the Main Arts Lecture Theatre one hour before the start of the ceremony to register that they are present. Please bring your Bangor University ID card with you.
Admission to the Ceremony for all guests is by TICKET ONLY. Students do not need a ticket. Most people like to bring friends and family along to their graduation ceremony. As seating in the Prichard-Jones Hall is limited, we are only able to guarantee TWO GUEST TICKETS per student, at the cost of £12.00 each. Tickets should be purchased on-line, please click here.
If you fail to purchase your guest tickets by 7th June, we can not guarantee your guests attendance at the ceremony.
If any additional tickets become available for the Ceremonies, these will be placed for sale on the on-line shop during the week July 1st - 4th. Tickets will cost £12.00 and each student will be limited to TWO EXTRA GUEST TICKETS. Tickets if available will be sold on a first come first served basis.
Refunds:
Tickets are normally non-refundable. However, if your name does not appear on a pass list you should contact Student Administration Enquiries to request a refund.
Ticket Collection:
All guest tickets will be available for collection at the student registration desk in the Main Arts Building one hour before the start of the ceremony. All tickets must be collected 20 minutes before the start of the cermeony. y.
Visa Requests
If any international student requires a visa letter for their guests wishing to attend graduation, please complete the online enquiry form and choose `Graduation - visa letter request`, you will need to include your address in this application
Academic Gowns are ordered from Ede and Ravenscroft, further details can be found at Academic Dress. Please ensure that your order the correct gown to match your choice of University degree, either Bangor University or University of Wales. Changes will not be allowed on the day. Please note it is cheaper to order your gown before the ceremony either on-line or telephone than pay for a hire on the day.
Children:
Graduation ceremonies are formal lengthy events and experience has
shown that children become bored and restless.
Children under the age of 3 (up to the maximum of two per student), may be
allowed to attend, and must sit on an adult’s lap, and not on a seat.
Children aged 3 and over must have a full price guest ticket for entry to the
ceremony.
Additional Guests:
You are welcome to bring additional guests who may watch the ceremony relayed on a large screen in a nearby lecture theatre – tickets are not required for this.
