Cluster in the School, is being inducted as the first student member to
Sigma Theta Tau International.
Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) is the second largest global community
of nurses committed to advancing the learning, knowledge, and professional
development of nursing worldwide. As an honour society, STTI recognises
the academic and professional achievements of its members. STTI has
a global presence with over 450 Chapters in 90 countries meeting the
needs of over 125,000 members. The Society promotes excellence through
research, reports and reviews via its flagship publications: the Journal
of Nursing Scholarship and Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing. The
first branch of STTI in the UK, the Upsilon-Xi-at-Large Chapter has
recently been established jointly based at the Universities of Swansea
and Cardiff. Promoting a mandate in which nursing knowledge and scholarship
are recognised as central to improving patient outcomes, the Chapter
presents a vision of knowledge-driven nursing aimed at bridging the
research-to-practice gap.
