Welcome to the University’s induction site where you can find information about the University’s induction process and useful sites and links to provide you with the knowledge you may need during your first months with the University.
Induction is an essential part of the familiarisation process at the University to ensure that you quickly settle into your post by having a clear understanding of your role and become familiar with relevant University policies and processes.

This web site provides information about the following:

The Induction Programme – your induction will take place at Departmental, School level and at a University level. This section contains all the relevant information regarding this programme.

Relocation – if you are not only new to the University but also to the region, this comprehensive site aims to assist you to settle into the area quickly by providing essential information about public services and things to see and do in the area. 

Information for Temporary (Short Term) Staff – when you work for the University part time it can be difficult to access the formal induction programme. This site therefore addresses the particular induction needs of recently appointed part time staff.

Useful Links – some sites are more useful than others when you are new and this page contains a list of the most useful for new staff.

Essential Policies – this page provides an outline of policies staff should be familiar with and a link to Blackboard to complete the questionnaire on key policies.
