General Entry Requirements
Entry onto undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is dependant on academic qualifications and English Language level.
Academic Requirements
Undergraduate Courses
For entry onto undergraduate / bachelor degree programmes, students with a school leaving qualification equivalent to the British school leaving qualification will be considered for direct entry into the 1st year of a 3 or 4 year programme. Students from countries whose school leaving qualification is not at a level equivalent to the British school-leaving qualification are required to undertake an additional foundation year.
Undergraduate Transfer
It is possible to transfer into the 2nd year of an undergraduate degree programme if the university studies undertaken to date in another country or in another institution in the UK correspond by level and content to the 1st year programme at Bangor. In this case, an equivalent of 120 credits will be awarded for the equivalent of the 1st year in Bangor, which will require the completion of a further 240 credits, 120 at level 2 (2nd year) and 120 at level 3 (third and final year). In order to assess an application for transfer, students are required to provide with their application an official certified transcript detailing the study undertaken to date.
Postgraduate Masters' Courses
Entry onto Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Masters' courses requires a bachelor degree of equivalent standard to the British bachelor degree in a relevant subject with a grade equivalent to at least a British second class honours.
Candidates who are 25 years or older who do not have a bachelor degree, but who have 3 years or more of relevant work experience can be considered for entry onto Masters' programmes.
Bridging Degree
Students who wish to undertake a Masters' degree in Business and Finance and who possess an academic qualification deemed equivalent to the second year undergraduate level at Bangor University (eg the 3 year University diploma in China) may be considered for a 2 year programme culminating in the award of a Masters' degree.
