Entry requirements
Foundation Courses
Students must have obtained good grades in their Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
Undergraduate Courses
Students with good grades in their UCE AND who have completed a recognised Foundation course.
OR Students with good grades in their Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education
OR Holders of a good Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate
OR Holders of a good East African Advanced Certificate of Education
OR Students with good grades in their A-levels taken in Uganda
English Language Requirements (Undergraduate)
Students who are studying or have studied the UACE (A-level) will not be required to provide evidence of thieri English Language ability.
Postgraduate Courses
Holders of a Bachelor degree from a recognised Ugandan / UK institution
English Language Requirements (Postgraduate)
Generally, the applicant would not be expected to provide an English Language test result (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL), however, where a higher English Language Proficiency is required for entry, the School/Department may request the applicant to take an IELTS or TOEFL test as extra evidence to support their English Language ability.
PhD
Requires a Masters degree as well as a Bachelor degree.
Mature students (age 25+)
Students who are 25 years or older on the date of registration may be eligible for entry under the mature student regulations. This regulation does not require a bachelor degree. The applicants must however have held a position of responsibility relevant to the proposed course of study for a minimum period of 2 years prior to commencing the course. This rule does NOT apply for applicants for PhD studies, and entrants MUST have a taught postgraduate degree.
