General Entry Requirements

Entry onto undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is dependant on academic qualifications and English Language level.

Academic Requirements

Undergraduate - 3 years

We consider each application from the US individually, but a general guide is:

  • American High School Diploma - 3.0
  • Good SATs scores (minimum 550+ in each component) or ACT (26+)
  • At least 2 APs (score of 3+) or relevant at SAT subject tests (550+)
  • or International Baccalaureate Diplma with a minimum of 28 points

Undergraduate Transfer

It is possible to transfer into the 2nd year of an undergraduate degree programme if the university studies undertaken to date in another country or in another institution in the UK correspond by level and content to the 1st year programme at Bangor

Study Abroad (Semester or 1 year)

You should have a good academic record at your home university. We look for a GPA of 2.5 or better (GPA of 3.0 to study Psychology)

Postgraduate – Masters - 1 year

·         A bachelor's degree from an American University with a GPA of at least 3.0.

Postgraduate Research – PhD – 3 years

·         Each application is assessed on its own merits, however students will usually be expected to hold a Masters degree. Previous exposure to research or thesis writing is highly desirable.
