Over a two day period, visiting Professor Martijn Quinn delivered a series of fascinating seminars on European Union Environmental Policy to students and professors from Bangor Law School, and from the School of Environmental Sciences.

Both the Law students and the Environmental students were most appreciative of this additional perspective on the politics and policies of sustainable development.

At the conclusion of the series of seminars, Professor Dermot Cahill, Dean of Bangor University Law School, said: “Martijn Quinn’s visit here is just the latest in a series of major European-focussed initiatives we are developing for our Law Students and research community here at Bangor University Law School, following on from our success in hosting the European Law Moot Court Competition Regional Final here in 2008 and 2009.”

He added: "I have no doubt that following Professor Quinn's seminars, several students in that audience today will set their sights on high-flying international careers in the areas of either Environmental Law or policy. A visiting Professor of this quality is inspirational, insightful and international in focus. We are indeed fortunate that an official of this high standing chose Bangor as a suitable forum to deliver these high level seminars to our students, and we look forward to future visits by him to Bangor University".
