The University

Bangor University established in 1884 enjoys a long tradition of teaching excellence

Prince Charles is the Chancellor of the university, who visited Bangor to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the Main University Building

Bangor is ranked the 2nd best value university in the UK (The Independent)

A great location, with good road and rail networks to Manchester, Liverpool, Cardiff and London

Bangor is consistently ranked in the Top 15 of UK universities for student experience (Times Higher Education Supplement)

Bangor is regarded as one of the safest places to be a student as the North Wales crime rate is one of the lowest across the UK

The location is probably one of the most beautiful university settings in the whole of the UK – situated between the Snowdonia Mountains and the Menai Straits. It is a paradise for sporty students.

There’s no such thing as a “typical student” – that’s why Bangor has something for everyone. The city itself is small and welcoming (which means it’s easier to make friends) but large enough to be able to offer you all you need for a happy and fulfilling student life. Visit the Student Life pages for more information.
