1. Refworks introduction & login information
What is Refworks?
Refworks is an “online reference manager”, which enables you to store and organize your references online. It is freely available to university members and can be accessed anywhere you are online, with your university user name and password. You can use a tool called Write-N-Cite to insert references from Refworks into essays in Microsoft Word, and create a bibliography (list of references) at the end of the essay.
How do I find and login to Refworks?

- Click on “go to this resource”.
- Underneath the heading Login using other credentials, hover your mouse over My Institution's credentials (Shibboleth) and click on Bangor University.
- Login with your university name and password.
- First time users only: register with Refworks (fill in your full name, university email address, area of study, and level).
Method Two: Via Refworks page

3. Refworks help & teaching sessions
Workshops
The User Support librarians run regular Refworks workshops (guided teaching sessions in computer rooms), some organized by the library and some booked by teaching departments, the ADU, ELCOS, and so forth. We are only able to run computer room workshops with small groups.
Presentations
We can give Refworks presentations to small or large groups, demonstrating Refworks and Write-N-Cite.
One-to-Ones
We also offer one-to-one help sessions when time allows.
Help for Students & Staff
All help and teaching is available to staff as well as students, and we are happy to go over Refworks basics with staff members due to teach Refworks.

4. Endnote and other referencing systems
The library does not buy Endnote, but we do have access to Endnote Web (which has some differences to Endnote). You can find Endnote Web via the library catalogue or online.
You are welcome to use Endnote, or other referencing systems, such as Mendeley, Zotero, etc, but at present the library only has time and resources to offer teaching and support for Refworks users.
5. Referencing help & support
Please contact your School with queries relating to referencing.
