The Hysbys – a partnership between Lifelong Learning, University of Wales, Bangor, BBC Wales and the Welsh Language Board regularly visits communities across North Wales. The Hysbys recently visited Betws y Coed’s Welsh for Adults class to further enhance the learning experience.
The Welsh for Adults course is run through Lifelong Learning and lessons are usually held at the Glanaber Hotel in Betws y Coed. The purpose of the Hysbys’ visit was to introduce the students to various technological resources that would aid them with their learning.
The Hysbys boasts the latest computers and an on-board broadcasting studio, where the students learnt of helpful web-sites and watched DVDs to help them with their learning.
“Whether you’re learning Spanish, Italian or Welsh, the more resources available to help you the better. We’ve had a good day today, the students have been learning through the use of the latest technology, which was also fun! There are many Welsh educational web sites around that can help with your learning at home between classes; access of which is readily available on the Hysbys.” Said Richard Thomas, College of Education and Lifelong Learning Hysbys Coordinator.
