How does it work?
The HE Certificate
in Open Studies offers students the opportunity to study at a
pace that suits them. Some of our student will take up to 60 credits
a year, while some will take 10 credits one year and perhaps not
return for the following year.
The Certificate is made up of 120 credits at level 4 and is composed
of 10 or 20 credit modules. Students may study a maximum of 40
credit per term and must complete the Certificate within 6 years
of registering. We recommend that students who want to register
for a Certificate do so on completion of no more than 40 credits,
having discussed their programme with a member of our advice and
guidance team.
All student who successfully complete the HE Certificate in Open
Studies are able to study at University level and in some cases
will give students prior standing within special qualifications
offered by us, other Departments in Bangor University, and other institutions.
Not all modules are available every year or can be guaranteed
in particular locations although every effort is made to meet
the needs of students.
