Over the last 40 years Lifelong Learning at Bangor University has developed a structured and effective programme for adult learners of Welsh.
Tens of thousands of students have benefited from the combination of carefully graded courses, highly experienced and committed tutors and first class back-up services.
Courses are available daytime and evening across North Wales.
We offer a wide range of classes providing the learner with a clear progression
route from one level to the next:
- Cwrs Wlpan (Beginners - Entry level)
- Cwrs Canol-Wlpan (Beginners' 2nd year - Foundation Level)
- Cwrs Pellach (Intermediate level)
- Pellach Trwy’r Post (Intermediate Distance Learning Course)
- Uwch (Advanced level 1)
- Meistroli (Advanced level 2)
- Meistroli Trwy’r Post (Advanced Distance Learning Course)
- Courses for Fluent Learners (Proficiency level)
We offer a five-day-a-week SuperWlpan course at Bangor which will take complete beginners through Entry and Foundation levels in three months (October – December), followed by a three-day-a-week SuperPellach course taking learners through to the end of the Intermediate level by June.
We also offer multi-level courses:
- One day schools offered at various times of the year across north Wales
- Summer and New Year Schools
New to our range of courses is a confidence-building course. This is aimed
at those who have been brought up in the area and/or studied Welsh at school,
who understand spoken Welsh with ease, but don’t have the confidence to speak the language themselves.
Courses start towards the end of September, with some additional beginners’ courses in January and April.
