Bangor Music students 'Most satisfied in the UK'

Bangor has the most satisfied Performing Arts students in the UK, according to the Times Higher Education Supplement. This was revealed in the first national student satisfaction survey, in which students across the UK answered questions about all aspects of their courses and university life. Data on Music was recorded under 'Performing Arts'.

On an average of all questions asked, Music at Bangor came top out of all Performing Arts departments in the UK, with an satisfaction rating of 4.2 out of 5. Bangor's Modern Languages department records the highest mark for the subject in Question 22 (overall satisfaction), scoring 4.7 out of a possible 5 along with only four other departments (in all disciplines) scoring so highly in all UK universities.

"We are delighted with the endorsement that the Modern Languages Department and the School of Music has received from its students and are generally pleased with the way that Bangor's students have responded in this comprehensive survey," commented Professor Merfyn Jones, the University's Vice-Chancellor. "The results reflect the emphasis that we place on teaching and student care at Bangor. This was also borne out recently by another student survey, which placed Bangor top in the UK for our student focussed approach."
