Background
Born and educated in Aberystwyth, Wyn Thomas is a graduate of Bangor University and completed his postgraduate studies in ethnomusicology in 1983. Following a period of time as a Research Assistant on behalf of the University of Wales, he began lecturing at Bangor in 1981 and established The Archive of Welsh Traditional Music in 1986. He is a Teaching Fellow of the University and co-edits the bilingual journal Welsh Music History / Hanes Cerddoriaeth Cymru.
