A great place to study!

A survey of the best student rated university towns and cities in the UK according to the facilities and location has Bangor as one of the best places in the country.

The Survey asked students to rate their university and location according to the following categories: going out, shops, transport links, community and facilities.

Bangor scored the second highest score of 60%, beaten by only eight other locations scoring 62%. Overall, it appears that the north of the UK fares better than the south and south east.

“This is not new information to us!” commented Carys Roberts, Head of Student Recruitment. “Bangor University is based in one of the most fantastic parts of the UK and many of our students come here to take advantage of the mountains and sea- where a whole range of outdoor activities offer themselves. Bangor is also a friendly, compact and relatively safe community in which to live and study. These are all ‘pluses’ when added to the excellent teaching that we offer,” added Carys.

The survey was carried out by Accommodation for Students website, and included ratings from students from over 70 universities.

Also scoring 60% with Bangor were: Southampton, Exeter, Sheffield, Portsmouth, Swansea, Cardiff and Belfast. Scoring 62% were Manchester, Aberdeen, Brighton, Dundee, Edinburgh & Glasgow.
