Dr
Judy Hutchings was awarded the Western Mail Welsh Woman of the Year Woman
as Educator Award at a glitzy Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner in Cardiff's
International Arena recently.
Child psychologist, Dr Judy Hutchings is Director of the Incredibly Years Wales Centre at the University's School of Psychology, a Centre that has grown out of Dr Hutchings' vast experience of working with children with behavioural problems and their parents. Through her work and research, the 'Incredible Years' programmes developed in the US to tackle behavioural difficulties have been widely adopted in Wales. Dr Hutchings works with parent groups, professionals and others providing training and guidance in the Incredible Years programmes. Dr Hutchings is also a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service for the North West Wales NHS Trust.

Award was Professor Sian Hope of the School of Informatics. Professor
Sian Hope is one of the UK's few women Professors of Computer Science.
Through her research, Prof Hope works closely with business and industry
on technology transfer. In her research she focuses on developments which
have a sound scientific base and which also have practical applications.
