In a world where universities compete globally to recruit both the best students and the best academics to teach and research at their Universities, Bangor’s reputation as an international University is being recognised.
A new table of the world’s top universities, places Bangor University 143rd in the world as a destination for international students. It is also in the top 200 universities (183rd) as a recruiter of international staff, and is in the top 50 UK universities.
Professor John G. Hughes, Bangor University’s Vice Chancellor said: “Bangor University is really making its presence felt around the globe, as an attractive destination for undergraduate and postgraduate students and as a workplace for some of the world’s best researchers and lecturers.”
Added to the excellent international indicators, which show the proportion of international students among those attracted to Bangor University, the University’s scores have improved for academic reputation, employer reputation, for the student :staff ratio and for the five subject areas covered: Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Social Sciences & Management, and Natural Sciences for 2013/14.
“Bangor provides education and research of high quality and makes a valuable contribution both regionally and on the wider stage,” added Professor John G. Hughes.
