The Office of Programme Management exists to champion and co-ordinate the development and delivery of the University’s major projects of strategic importance.  It also aims to bring an integrated and professional management approach to projects, by interfacing with the university’s business service-related units, academic departments and liaison with relevant external local and government bodies.

It acts as a central coordination point to oversee the development, bids submission process, progress and prioritisation of a number of other projects, where Bangor University is either the lead stakeholder or a collaborating partner.  The OPM reports to the Major Projects Group on the status of the projects on a bi-monthly basis, and approval for new proposals is either granted or declined depending upon the strategic fit with the University’s mission and aims.

In order to achieve a professional approach, it works across departments and interfaces with colleagues in the Finance Office,  RIO (the Research Office, the Knowledge Economy Office, Business Enterprises & Services), and collaborates with the commericalisation unit on matters of technology transfer.  It also liaises with external stakeholders such as WEFO, the Welsh Assembly Government, local councils, other HEIs, the Centre for Business Research & Market Intelligence, the Arts Council for Wales, HEFCW and other potential private supporters for funding opportunities.
