PhDs
Funding for full-time PhD study is available through a number of sources, including the ESRC, Bangor University,
and the School of Psychology. The following are among the possible sources of funding:
School of Psychology PhD Studentships:We offer several studentships to outstanding applicants each year for work towards a PhD. Our studentships are advertised on our website and on www.jobs.ac.uk on an annual basis. Earlier this year we offered six fully-funded studentships of which there is one remaining. Please click here for details.
Staff-Solicited Funding (all applicants): A PhD can be funded by working as a Research Assistant (RA) for a specific research project within the School of Psychology.
Such Research Assistantships are usually funded through grants to individual researchers in the School. Whenever the supervisor
of the project agrees, the RA can apply for the PhD program. If accepted, the RA's tuition fees are waived. Staff members also occasionally win funding for PhD studentships through their research grants. It is therefore worth you making direct contact with academic staff members that you may be interested in working with in order to explore funding possibilities. A full list of our academic staff and their research interests can be found here.
