This collaborative partnership between Aberystwyth and Bangor Universities addresses the higher-level Skills Agenda within Wales. The Aber-Bangor Skills Centre offers businesses and individuals the opportunity to work with the two Universities; assisting them in developing flexible solutions to their skills needs leading to Continual Professional Development (CPD) courses.

Health and Wellbeing at Work Project
Work-based learning allows employees to gain further skills during work’s time. As part of this pan-Wales programme, Bangor University has developed the ‘Health and Wellbeing at Work project’ to give private and third sector enterprises in Wales the competitive edge.
The Schools of Psychology; Sport, Health & Exercise Sciences; and Healthcare Sciences, have joined forces to create an exciting portfolio of learning opportunities for eligible individuals. We are offering funded places on accredited modules that allow applicants to progress to further qualifications. Modules will be delivered in Bangor University with the potential to tailor for subsequent on-site or on-line delivery.
What the Health and Wellbeing at Work project has to offer:

The Elevate CYMRU project is part of the Work Based Learning programme, funded by the European Social Fund, through the Welsh Government. The project aims to build a Pan Wales approach to the leadership and management high level skills needs of micro, small and medium to large sized businesses (including Retail). Accredited training is delivered through four University led networks encompassing the Convergence areas of Wales.
If you are a private sector company based in the Convergence areas of Wales then support provided by the programme is either fully or part funded. Each student will be supported by a personal tutor and no prior qualifications are needed.

For employers looking for courses for staff or themselves, it is possible to enrol on one of the continuing professional development that are available through the Management Centre. It is possible to undertake postgraduate and professional qualifications as well arrange individual training programmes in the areas of management, leadership and finance.
Alternatively, there are many part-time courses including Welsh for Adults available through the Department of Lifelong Learning.
The LEAD Wales programme is designed to develop and enhance the leadership skills of owners of small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) located across the Convergence region of Wales and is being delivered through Swansea University’s School of Business and Economics and Bangor University Business School. The programme is backed by the Welsh Assembly Government and the European Social Fund. This innovative programme concentrates on two areas of business: the business itself and the personal development of the owner-manager; providing a framework to increase profitability, to enable diversification and support business growth. The programme - which is designed to meet the specific needs of owner-managers - integrates active teaching with action learning, encouraging participants to share knowledge and experience with their peers and to apply what they learn to their own business situation.
