This collaborative partnership between Aberystwyth and Bangor Universities addresses the higher-level Skills Agenda within Wales. The Aber-Bangor Skills Centre offers businesses and individuals the opportunity to work with the two Universities; assisting them in developing flexible solutions to their skills needs leading to Continual Professional Development (CPD) courses.

Bangor University is one of the Welsh universities participating in the Work Based Learning and Foundation Degree programmes, both of which are funded in part by ESF convergence funds and managed by the University of Glamorgan.

For employers looking for courses for staff or themselves, it is possible to enrol on one of the continuing professional development that are available through the Management Centre. It is possible to undertake postgraduate and professional qualifications as well arrange individual training programmes in the areas of management, leadership and finance.
Alternatively, there are many part-time courses including Welsh for Adults available through the Department of Lifelong Learning.
The LEAD Wales programme is designed to develop and enhance the leadership skills of owners of small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) located across the Convergence region of Wales and is being delivered through Swansea University’s School of Business and Economics and Bangor University Business School. The programme is backed by the Welsh Assembly Government and the European Social Fund. This innovative programme concentrates on two areas of business: the business itself and the personal development of the owner-manager; providing a framework to increase profitability, to enable diversification and support business growth. The programme - which is designed to meet the specific needs of owner-managers - integrates active teaching with action learning, encouraging participants to share knowledge and experience with their peers and to apply what they learn to their own business situation.
