Scholarships at Bangor University
The School of Social Sciences is offering 5 PhD Anniversary Research Bursaries.
There will be excellent opportunities for researchers to benefit from Bangor’s participation in the Wales Institute of Social & Economic Research, Data & Methods (WISERD); The Welsh Centre for Crime and Social Justice(WCCSJ) and the Centre for Applied Research & Evaluation Sciences (CARES).
The School is particularly interested in applications in the following areas of research:
Social care and health care policy and practice; Policy evaluation; Professional power and health care decision making; Historical sociology of health, medicine and welfare; Carer and patient careers; Inequalities and social exclusion; Housing and homelessness.
The formation of social identities at local, national and international levels; Local knowledge, engagement and activism; Civil society; Social change, lifestyles and later life; Wales in comparative perspective.
Crime, conflict and social cohesion; political violence and terrorism; the role of the public in the criminal justice system. Transnational and transdisciplinary research proposals will be particularly welcome.
Language Planning; Minority languages; Language, migration and belonging.
