The School of Social Sciences aims to provide students with the skills to make an excellent contribution to the workplace.

There is a special emphasis on professional training in a range of public services including:

  • Social Work
  • Probation
  • Police
  • Health and Social Care.

The BA programmes in Social Work and Probation deliver professional qualifications in their respective fields. They involve close partnerships with the employing organizations in the region, and across Wales.

Through placement opportunities, other students can benefit from work experience with the police and other organizations, thereby enhancing their employment prospects.
