In an extension of Bangor’s Entrance Scholarships scheme, a number of Merit Scholarships are now available. There will be approximately 40 Merit Scholarships of up to £3,000 available to those who excel in the University's annual Entrance Scholarships examinations.
To be considered for the Merit Scholarships and other Entrance Scholarships, you have to
- complete an Entrance Scholarships application form (closing date 15th January 2012)
- sit an exam in the subject of your choice (with the exams being held at your school/college on 1st February 2012.
Entrance Scholarships examinations are currently offered in the following subjects

- Chemistry
- Computing
- Design and Technology
- Economics
- English
- Electronics
- French
- German
- Geography
- History
- Italian
- Law
- Mathematics
- Media Studies
- Music
- Physics
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Spanish
- Sport and Exercise Science
- Theatre Studies
- Welsh (First or Second Language)
The successful candidates will receive the Merit Scholarship in the first year, with the payment being made in two installments.
