Bangor Merit and Entrance Scholarships

In an extension of Bangor’s Entrance Scholarships scheme, a number of Merit Scholarships are now available. There will be approximately 40 Merit Scholarships of up to £3,000 available to those who excel in the University's annual Entrance Scholarships examinations.
 
To be considered for the Merit Scholarships and other Entrance Scholarships, you have to

  • complete an Entrance Scholarships application form (closing date 15th January 2012)
  • sit an exam in the subject of your choice (with the exams being held at your school/college on 1st February 2012.

Entrance Scholarships examinations are currently offered in the following subjects

  • Computing
  • Design and Technology
  • Economics
  • English
  • Electronics
  • French
  • German
  • Geography
  • History
  • Italian
  • Law
  • Mathematics
  • Media Studies
  • Music
  • Physics
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Spanish
  • Sport and Exercise Science
  • Theatre Studies
  • Welsh (First or Second Language)

The successful candidates will receive the Merit Scholarship in the first year, with the payment being made in two installments.

 Girls who are or who have been pupils at a state or independant secondary school situated in any locality in the former counties of Caernarvonshire and Denbighshire.
School of Law Scholarships up to £3000 Candidates wishing to study any undergraduate degree course within the School of Law.
Normal Fund Scholarship £500 in the first year Applicants wishing to study any undergraduate degree course within Education
School of Welsh Scholarships between £500 and £3000 Candidates who excel in the scholarships examination and who wish to come to Bangor University to study for an undergraduate degree within the School of Welsh
