Postgraduate Access Bursary

Students may be eligible for the Postgraduate Access Bursary if as an undergraduate, they were in receipt of one of the following :

an Assembly Learning Grant
an Opportunity Bursary,
a Foyer Bursary
a Care Leavers Grant.

Students must be able to provide evidence that they were in receipt of these grants or bursaries. The maximum available to each student will be £500.

LEA Awards

As a general rule local authorities offer no support for postgraduate study, while others consider only certain courses, such as the PGCE.

It is a good idea to contact your local education authority early in the year to find out what they will fund. Your chance of obtaining funding improve if the course is vocational but you will need to present a good case for an award.
