Professor Gareth Lloyd Jones
Emeritus Professor
335 (New Arts Building)
I am a former student of the Department who arrived in 1957 to read for a degree in Hebrew, and I returned to Bangor University in 1977 after having studied in Cambridge, Jerusalem, and the Yale University Divinity School, and having taught at McCormick Seminary in Chicago and at Ripon College and Exeter College, Oxford. My PhD is from King's College, London.
My main research interests have been the use of Hebrew among Christians during the early modern period, and latterly Judaism and Jewish-Christian dialogue. These interests are reflected in the Festschrift Honouring the Past and Shaping the Future edited by Dr Robert Pope and presented to me in September 2003.
