The School of Welsh-Medium Studies
The next meeting of the School/Bangor Branch of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol will be held in the Council Chamber at 2.15 on Wednesday 2 May 2012
The School of Welsh-Medium Studies plays an important part in the development of Welsh Medium provision at Bangor University. The School's purpose is to ensure that a growing number of subjects are taught through the medium of Welsh. We can take pride in the fact that more than 1400 of our students now follow their whole course or part of their course through the medium of Welsh.
The School's members are enthusiastic and committed, using every opportunity to further the cause of Welsh-medium education in committee meetings, channelling funds for projects and ensuring the dissemination of information on the modules and courses available through the medium of Welsh. The School also, through TASIG (Welsh Language Strategy Task Group), advises the University, on new areas for the expansion of Welsh-medium provision, and provides support for further developments. Recent examples include developments in a broad range of subject areas, from Modern Languages to Chemistry..
We would like to welcome all new students in particular. If this is the first time you have visited the School's website, we hope you will find useful information here.
