Cadeirir gan Jon Gower

As a passionate believer in the democracy of reading, I don't think it's the task of the author of a book to tell the reader what it means.

The meaning of a story emerges in the meeting between the words on the page and the thoughts in the reader's mind. So when people ask me what I meant by this story, or what was the message I was trying to convey in that one, I have to explain that I'm not going to explain.

Anyway, I'm not in the message business; I'm in the "Once upon a time" business
.”

Mae Philip Pullman, Cymrawd o Brifysgol Bangor, yn awdur enwog y drioleg His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, a The Amber Spyglass. Ymhlith ei lyfrau eraill i blant ac oedolion ifanc mae Count Karlstein a thrioleg o nofelau cyffrous Fictoraidd gyda'r cymeriad canolog Sally Lockhart. Enillodd Northern Lights, y cyntaf o drioleg His Dark Materials gan Pullman, y Carnegie Medal a'r Guardian Fiction Prize.

Gan gymryd llyfr diweddaraf yr awdur, sef La Belle Sauvage y gyntaf o dair cyfrol yn y gwaith The Book of Dust, a gyhoeddwyd yr hydref diwethaf, fel man cychwyn, ymunwch â ni wrth i ni edrych ar hud dweud stori gyda Philip Pullman. Bydd Jon Gower, yr awdur a chyn ohebydd y celfyddydau BBC Cymru, yn arwain y drafodaeth.
