Wales’s leading chamber music ensemble, Ensemble Cymru, will mark its 15 year anniversary with a very special and extended concert at Pontio this autumn, bringing together world-class musicians with a passion for sharing rare chamber music from Wales and the world.

Ensemble Cymru will put Welsh composers in the spotlight with a performance of John Metcalf’s Not the Stillness and the work of an emerging young Welsh composer, Claire Roberts. It’s also a rare opportunity to hear a live performance of Martinu’s Chamber Music No. 1 which has the unusual combination of harp and piano.

Duration: approx 90 minutes (including 15 minute interval)

Prelude concert: Tudur Owen’s Chamber Music Challenge
2.15pm -  Entry free with concert ticket
As part of a special programme for Radio Cymru, comedian and presenter, Tudur Owen, will give his first ever chamber music performance alongside Ensemble Cymru percussionist, Dewi Ellis Jones.
