You are warmly invited to the first session in our CELT Knowledge Exchange Series for 2017-18. These sessions, open to all, are designed to provide opportunities to meet colleagues informally to exchange ideas and developments in learning and teaching at Bangor.

Bangor is developing a suite of new Learner Analytics tools designed to give us more a convenient and efficient means to understand our students. It is hoped that this will give us the tools to improve engagement and may even lead to curriculum design enhancements from previously un-noticed trends – “hidden message in the data”. In this session, we will give an overview of these systems with a brief demonstration for those who haven’t used them before. We will then discuss and consider the insights they provide, the ethical concerns around the use of analytics, and keeping one eye on the future. It is a really exciting prospect that we are potentially faced with but we must get it right.

The discussion will be led by Dr Dave Perkins of the Learning Technology Team, together with other members of the CELT team.
