Hai has over 35 years of experience in microbial biotechnology, enzymology and microbial biochemistry. Before joining Bangor he worked at laboratories of Prof Hans Schlegel (University of Gӧttingen), Prof Alex Steinbüchel (Uni Müenster) and Prof Al Edwards (University of Toronto)

Currently, he leads the metagenomics enzyme screening pipeline related to the EU FP7 Project MICROB3   http://www.microb3.eu/
