Sonya has been a teacher ever since completing a MA in Ancient & Modern History at Oxford University in 1985; she also completed a Dip TEFL at the same time and started working with British and international students in that city. After moving to North Wales in 1991, she completed a PG Certificate in HE/ FE and a MEd., specialising in Dyslexia and other Learning Difficulties, and continued to work at the local college and university. To update her skills more recently she has completed a Level 5 ESOL certificate and is halfway through a Doctorate in Education, focusing on the impact of internationalisation on Higher Education in the UK.
She loves being outside, skiing, surfing, climbing mountains and inside doing mountainous amounts of cooking. She also likes looking after her family, travelling, gardening and chatting.
One thing she likes about BUIC
Small classes and multicultural teaching / learning environment.
