Research in the College of Arts and Humanities

Research in the College of Arts and Humanities spans a wide range of discipline areas, and in many cases combines expertise across disciplines. The exciting and significant research carried out by our Academic Schools plays an important role in making Bangor a world-leading research institution.

The College has an excellent research record. In the most recent national assessment of research quality (REF 2014) we submitted to four Units of Assessment:

Research Strengths/Specialisms

Amongst the College’s key collaborative research themes are bilingualism and cultural translation, Celtic Studies, creative practice & practice-based research, cognitive linguistics, digital economies, medieval and early modern studies, and media & persuasive communication.

Research Partnerships

Research within the College of Arts and Humanities is carried out by individuals, research groups and within Centres and Institutes. We have a number of research centres based within the college, and a thriving community of postgraduate researchers.
