GO Wales: Achieve through Work Experience
The GO Wales: Achieve through Work Experience programme has been set up to help you to develop and refine your employability skills so that you can increase your chances of obtaining Graduate Level employment upon leaving university and reduce the chances of you becoming NEET (not in Education, Employment or Training).
With the support of an advisor we can help you to decide what kind of work experience would be best for you and help you to prepare for it. We will work with employers to arrange flexible, career relevant work experience, individually tailored to your needs and support you along the way. We can also help with travel costs, reasonable adjustments in the work place and childcare costs if required.
To be considered for the project you must be Under 25, studying a full time HE course at a Welsh University and have legal right to live in the UK.
You must also fall into one (or more) of the following categories
- Have a Disability or Work Limiting Health Condition (WLHC)
- Have caring responsibilities
- Have been in care
- Have a BME background (minority ethnic groups)
- Come from a low University Participation Area
NOTE: If you are nearing your 25th birthday please get in touch as soon as possible – due to the way we are funded, you will not be eligible to sign up to the project once you are 25 but we can work with 25 year olds if you sign up prior to your 25th birthday.
The Bangor GO Wales Team are based within the Careers & Employability Service and will be happy to provide more information about the project and eligibility criteria. Please contact us by:
