The School of Chemistry is within city of Bangor which lies between the Menai Strait and the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, UK.

Travelling to Bangor

From the A55 & A5

  • Leave the A55 at the first turn-off for Bangor (sign-posted Prifysgol/University).
  • This will bring you into the city along Beach Road and Garth Road as shown on the main map of Bangor. (Please note, follow the map, not the roadsigns which lead to the Main Arts site, not the Science site).
  • The School of Chemistry is located in the Tower Building off Deniol Road (marked Llandegai road on the google map above). There are University car parks located next door and also next to the Science Library off Sackville Road. There are also public car parks (recommended) off Sackville Road.

From the A487 (travelling from South, Mid and West Wales)

  • At the A487/A4087 roundabout, instead of taking the A4087 towards Bangor, please follow the exit signposted Conwy/Holyhead.
  • At the next three roundabouts follow the signs for Bangor. This will bring you towards Bangor along Holyhead Road.
  • Continue along Holyhead Road and turn left at the traffic lights. The entrance to the Science Site University car park is on your left after the mini-roundabout.
