Overview
Students will achieve a total of 30 ECTS in taught modules appropriate to their specialised field of study. Specialisation options in the second year are, Management of Forest and Nature for Society (Copenhagen), Forest and Nature management in Changing Climate (Goettingen), Forest Management in Scandinavia and Baltic Region (Alnarp), Mountain Forestry and Watershed Management (Padova), and Conservation & Land Management (Bangor). The objective of this year of study is to profit from the global expertise in the member Universities in their specialised fields. Thus, the entire taught complement of SUFONAMA consists of an education in the basic principles of sustainable forest and nature management (year 1) plus an application of these principles to a specialised field of their choice in the second year. There is further additionality in pursuing an education that is delivered within different European cultures and context.
Learning Outcomes
- Apply basic principles of sustainable forest and nature management to the more specialised field of study of temperate forestry and land use.
- Apply the learning outcomes of a student's first year of study in a different culture and context.
