Why Bangor…

I found a prospectus for Bangor in my 6th form common room, never having heard of Bangor before I gave it a read. I was immediately sold.

Open Day…

I drove 5 hours from my home to North Wales for the Open Day and it was so worth it! I found out that no other Uni offers a course quite like mine. It was like a perfect fit.

The course…

My course is amazing, I’m able to explore all different areas of creativity. The fact that I'm able to study film, theatre, media and so much more in one course means my course is tailored to me.

The highlights so far whilst on my course must be my when I performed my group pieces in my theatre modules. It was so much fun to get all dressed up and act alongside my friends, even better to get graded for something that’s fun.

The Academic School…

My School is great as JP Hall is constantly hosting some sort of play or dance class. My lecturers are constantly willing to help and they all have to be the most interesting people I’ve ever met in my life.

Halls…

I lived in Halls in my 1st year and I have to say I do miss it. I lived on the St Mary’s campus, and even though it is on top of a hill, it really is a nice place to live. It was cosy and comforting. They have a beautiful café and a gym. It really did feel like a home.

Clubs and societies...

I’ve tried quite a few societies such as Handball, Art, and Music - however my favourite is Archery. I am currently the social secretary for Archery (hoping for Captain next year!) It’s great to be able to do something that isn’t to do with my course for a few hours a week, it’s like a break from my degree and I’ve made some of the greatest friends from it.

Social activities...

I love to go to karaoke night, a lot of my friends do a music degree so karaoke is always entertaining. This year some of my friends have brought their car to uni so lately we’ve been exploring North Wales.

Best thing about living in Bangor…

The best thing about living in Bangor is how it’s not a big city, guaranteed whilst walking to a lecture you’ll bump into someone you know. It’s impossible to feel lonely in Bangor because you’ll see people all the time.

What will you miss...

When I leave Bangor I’ll miss all the people I’ve met. I’ve met such inspiring and amazing people that come from all different ends of the globe. I will certainly miss the cheap drinks!

Support

I’ve never needed extra support from the university but I know it’s always there if I need it, I have my personal tutor and student services right on hand if I ever do. It’s comforting to know that there are always people looking out for you.

The future…

The dream is to be good at my job, whatever it may be, I want to love my job. As long as it is something creative and exciting!
