Who are we?

We are a group of enthusiastic healthcare professionals, researchers, students, academic staff and public representatives who share a mutual interest in bridging knowledge and practice. Our mission is to grow an internationally recognised community to create knowledge of what works and why. Implement@Bangor has been successful in attracting significant amounts of international and national research income to fund a programme of research on implementation, including working across organisations and is a core part of the Bangor Institute of Health and Medical Research (BIHMR).

Our Aims

  • To study the application of implementation to increase the use of evidence in practice
  • To enhance the use of evidence within the design and delivery of health and public services
  • To accelerate the theory and evidence base about implementation
  • To improve the capability of researchers and professionals to study and undertake implementation
  • To develop organisational partnerships and infrastructure to undertake and evaluate implementation activities

Our key areas of interest are:

  • Partnership, collaboration and co-production
  • Theory development and testing
  • Impact and influence
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Implementation intervention evaluation
  • Methodological innovation
  • Service improvement and quality assurance

Ways of working

In creating an implementation active community we work with collaborators in a number of ways, including through competitively funded research studies, commissioned research, service evaluations, secondments, studentships and internships, together with an exciting range of research and taught post-graduate educational opportunities.
