Research Interests
Gwerfyl Roberts is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Healthcare Sciences, University of Bangor. Her main research interest focuses on enhancing and implementing the evidence base for language appropriate practice in health and social care. She is commissioned by the Welsh Government to lead LLAIS, the Welsh language awareness methodology support hub for the National Institute for Social Care and Health Research (NISCHR). Gwerfyl is a member of the Welsh Government Task Group for Welsh in the Health Service; and Ministerial Steering Group for the 2012-2015 Strategic Framework for Welsh Language Services in Health, Social Services and Social Care. A lead figure in Welsh-medium provision in nurse education, she also represents the health disciplines on the academic board of the new all-Wales Welsh-medium Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol established in 2011.
