Harriet GlennHarriet Glenn

Harriet Glenn is originally from Colwyn Bay. She is studying Midwifery.

Why Bangor?

The course is intensive and I wanted to stay close to home so I could see my family on days off, the lecturing team were friendly and welcoming.

What made you study the Midwifery course?

A fascination with pregnancy and birth.

Open Day

I missed the open day so a third year student midwife at the time kindly showed me round both the school and the placement area. I was impressed by the relationship the students had with the lecturers and mentors, which I thought would lend to my learning.

Social Life

The social life is great, there are lots of societies to choose from within the school, and plenty to do around Bangor, like clubs, pubs, take-aways, shops, and the new Pontio building

Halls of Residence

Living in student halls in my first year meant I’ve met friends for life. I lived with people on different courses and similar courses who I still live with now, and will continue to keep in touch with.

Bangor and the area

We are lucky in Bangor as it is a small city within beautiful landscape. There are mountain ranges, national parks, beaches, lakes, surfing and outdoors centres within driving distance.

Welcome Week

Welcome week was great as a way of meeting different people in your year and putting your name down for different societies.
