Dr Lucy Huskinson awarded with Teaching Fellowship
Dr Lucy Huskinson has been awarded a Teaching Fellowship for her outstanding contribution to teaching, to the enhancement of students’ learning experiences, and to the support and welfare she provides to students at Bangor University.
Lucy was nominated for the award by her students, who had many praiseworthy things to say;
“Lucy’s enthusiasm within the classroom incites a genuine passion for learning, and her classes always have large numbers of students, and attract students from many different disciplines”;
“Her creative approach ensures that all students develop a range of academic and interpersonal skills and the confidence they will need not only for academic study, but for life outside the classroom, including future employment”;
“Her classes are fun and entertaining, so that learning becomes something to enjoy rather than a chore. And the fact that Lucy actively researches (internationally) into the topics she teaches means her students benefit enormously from her experience and expertise. She often provides additional resources and one-to-one tutorials for those students who want to explore the subject further, and beyond the learning outcomes of the modules.”
Lucy teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students at the School of Philosophy and Religion, and is also the School’s Senior Tutor, and coordinator of its peer-guide and course representative schemes. Lucy has qualifications in counselling (BACP accredited), and has recently become an Honorary Counsellor within the University’s counselling service, where she sees students for counselling.
